ARSENAL. INFRASTRUCTURE

Please note that the Arsenal has two entrances, passage between two parts of the building is possible only through the Arsenal's courtyard. The right wing accommodates exhibition galleries, cafe, museum shop, children's centre. The left wing - cinema and concert hall, mediateque, lyceum, cafe.

RIGHT WING

Exhibition halls

Total floor area - 200 sq.m. The exhibition halls are equipped with modern technical systems for presentation of any form of contemporary art. The halls host exhibitions of Russian and foreign art of different genres and trends (video art, photography, objects, paintings, installations, etc.), museum and interdisciplinary projects.

Children's centre

Specially equipped space for theoretical and practical lessons of the Arsenal + Family and the Arsenal + School programs.

Cafe
The cafe offers a wide selection of desserts, ice cream, cold and hot coffee, tea of different types and flavors. There is also a special exposition dedicated to the Arsenal's history, and a stand with information about current events.

Museum shop
A unique place for Nizhny Novgorod, where visitors can acquire literature dedicated to contemporary art, humanitarian sciences books, contemporary poetry and prose. Mission of the shop - to be a reader's guide to the world of contemporary intellectual literature. Visitors can order books that currently are not in the shop’s assortment. The shop also offers original museum souvenirs and gifts.

Courtyard

Landscaped and technically equipped yard along the Arsenal’s building. It is used as an open gallery of contemporary art objects, as a venue for various actions and performances. Rails with a moving platform run the whole length of the yard. The platform serves as a stage or as an exhibition structure. The yard is fenced by the longest bench in the city.

LEFT WING

Cinema and concert hall

Total floor area – 250 sq.m, 200 seats. It is a multifunctional space for film screenings, conferences and lectures. When necessary, it can be transformed into open space for concerts, theatre performances, fashion shows and other performances.

Mediateque

Library with a collection of books and video, reading room and public space for literature meetings, presentations of new books by their authors, discussions, lectures and master classes. The library's collection includes over 6000 printed publications (magazines, books, catalogues of exhibitions in Russian, French, English, German and Italian languages) dedicated to actual art, video art, architecture, design, literature, philosophy and other spheres of contemporary Russian and foreign culture. Visitors of the mediateque have free access to video archive and art-related Internet resources.

Lyceum

Hall with 60 seats for lectures, discussions, round tables, classes and other public intellectual events.

Cafe
Fresh sandwiches, wide selection of desserts, ice cream, different types of coffee and tea. It is used as a venue for children’s birthdays, press conferences, buffet and drinks receptions, meetings of the teenage Arsenal club TAK! A children’s corner is organized in the cafe. Also, the cafe always has flyers and leaflets with information about current events at the Arsenal.
